I have both Drakensang The Dark Eye and Drakensang The River of Time for PC. I spent a decent amount of time in the Dark Eye (and by decent I only mean about 10 hours) but I just couldn't stay motivated to play it.

River of Time's plot is more of a political mystery that's wrapped up in the 'where are the pirate raids coming from'. About this game The prequel to Radon Labs' award-winning RPG, Drakensang: The River of Time introduces a brand new story within the Drakensang universe.
However, there isn't any Drakensang folder in My Documents folder, and the Steam folder for the game doesn't contain that file Documents, click on the name and keep clicking to it gets to 3 white folders. the one you delete is profile. then the game works. So apparently the folder/file decided on its on to finally appear.

I had to jump through a bunch of hoopla to figure out how to get the characters in game up to a decent running speed. I finally found a solution that should work, even with the current version of Windows 10.

A DRM-free/CD version available of Drakensang:ROT available or is it Steam only? There is, the one I got was bundled with the first game, but it also had the expansion. I found it on Amazon. A number of different types are listed on Amazon. Game only, Game bundled.

How do you make the Drakensang games work in Windows 10? I can always play them on my old Windows 7 computer, but I'd prefer to move completely to Windows 10.

The game looks pretty good while also being very well-optimized, capable of running well on pretty much any PC gaming rig built in the last half-decade. Sound, Music & Localization. The sound & music design of The River of Time is solid and unspectacular. Ambient sounds support the game's visuals without being obtrusive. River of Time added some features that make it more / easier playable like teleport points for quick travel. The thing is if you play River of Time first with those features and like it enough to want to play the other, you'll end up disappointed and probably won't have a good time because of the lack of those features River of Time had. When I first had win 7 (no online updates) a few years ago, these games ran fine. Something in a windows update may have made the game unplayble. It's weird. sooner or later, the game will be patched to run on the newer systems. No disrespect intended, but I seriously doubt they will bother to update the game for a new windows versions.

Both games keep crashing if i turn into fullscreen, i also cannot play at all if i use standard settings, so i run both on windows
Man I can't believe how this game slipped under the radar! The graphics and character animations, voice overs are amazing for a game released in 2011! Too bad it doesn't support 2560x1440 resolution though
When I start the game or the dlc comes out this error, I have searched the solution on the web and I can not find it. I have windows 10 and the game should work, I have the original disk of the company FX Interactive and it does not give me problems
