Check Towns that have Smithies, of course, as well as Tanneries. The Stugians have a nice Layered Leather armor that is really cheap and probably the best Early game armor you can get for that price. So, a weapon with at 50 handling vrs a weapon at 100 handlingbasically with the weapon at 50 handling all your skill bonuses are 50% less effective then using the one 100 handling. Game doesn't have an RNG component to hit detection, so I don't think that is right. Weapon handling increases the arch of where your weapon will deal the most

Let me give you a tip. Buy Broad leaf spears, and steel tipped spears those are best. And get the perk that allows you to upgrade fine steel into thamaske steel. You need weapons in inventory and open smelting screen. Then you can manually make a list of useful weapons. Also include wooden items.
